Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Lhasa

Elevation:3656m

We will receive you either at Lhasa Airport or at the Lhasa Tran Station. After small induction with your tour guide and driver along the way, you will be taken to your hotel. 

Its recommend to take a rest in hotel for some time to get acclimatize to High altitude of Tibet. Depending on time, by the evening some one from Agency will come to meet you at the hotels and discuss the itinerary and other stuff. Your guide will meet you next morning for visit to Local attractions in Lhasa.

Day 2Lhasa Guided Tour

Visit Jokhang Temple and Sera monastery.

In the morning,  your guide will meet you at the hotel after the breakfast. Attraction for the morning is a visit to Jokhang temple. It is the holiest temple or Macca of Tibetan Buddhism.

You will take a walk to the temple. After the visit, you can explore the local market on you own-self. Your guide will fix the time and meet up place for afternoon tour. 

In the afternoon you will visit the Sera Monastery. It is most preserved monastery in Tibet. In the monastery you can sit and observe monks debating in courtyard. 

If you would like explore the monastery on your own. You can tell your guide to give you some free times to explore the monastery on your own.

Day 3Lhasa Guided Tour

Visit Potala Palace,  and Drepung Monastery

You will visit the grand Potala Palace in the morning. The palace is an important landmark of Tibet and the masterpiece of Tibetan Architecture.

It was first built by King Songtsen Gampo, the 33rd king of Tibet’s Yurlung dynasty. Later in 17th century it was rebuilt by 5th Dalai Lama and use it as resident of successive Dalai Lama and his government. 

It is challenging to walk up the stair to 13th floor, but it is worthwhile to visit the spiritual palace, that is listed on the world heritage sites. you will climb up from the front and descent from the backside of the palace.

We will visit the Drepung Monastery in the afternoon. It is once the largest monastery in the world housing over 10,000 monks. There are lots to see along the winding and narrow lane of the monastery.

Day 4Lhasa - Gyantse (alt. 3950m)

Today is the first days outside Lhasa and your sleep altitude will gradually increase.

We will start at 9:00 am in morning from your hotel. Today’s route covers three mountain passes ( Khampa La Pass, Karola Pass, and Simi La Pass) and one lake called Yamdrok Lake. 

The highest altitude for the day is at 5000 meters at Karalo Pass. and the sleeping altitude is at 3950m in Gyantse. 

We will have a lunch at Nagartse town at Lhasa Restaurant.

Once when we will reach Gyantse town. You will have free time to explore the ancient traditional part of town.

Day 5Gyantse - Shigatse (Alt. 3900m)

We will start in the morning about 10:00 Am. First we will visit the Palchoe Monastery. Its about 15 walk from Hotel.

The Palchoe monastery is well known for its Kumbum Stupa. The monastery was built in 14th Century by local king for remembrance  of his diseased mother. 

Initially the monastery complex consider 15 house belonging to different school of Tibetan Buddhism. You will have your own time to explore the monastery on your own.

After the monastery we will visit the Gyantse fort. It is the most beautiful fort in Tibet and its the point of resistance by Local Tibetan Army during the British expedition to Tibet. 

We will drive to the Shigatse town, its about 90 kilometers from Gyantse town. As soon as we reach the town we will visit the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery.

Tashi Lhunpo Monastery is the forth biggest monastery in Central Tibet and it is the seat of Panchen Lama. 

The main attraction of the monastery is 26 meters tall statue of Maiterya Buddha. This statue was built in 1914 for those killed in first world war. 

The statue contains 6700 teals of gold and 150 metric tons of copper and inside the statue there is an enormous juniper tree from Reting monastery as a life-supporting axis, Sok-shing in Tibetan. 

The monastery is also have tomb stupa of successive Panchen Lamas.

Day 6Shigatse—Tingri--Chutang—Youpa Village (350km, 3770m)

We will leave the Shigatse after breakfast in Hotel and Drive towards Mt Everest Region. We will be driving across Lhatse and when we reach the Tingri town we will have the first glimpse of the Himalayas. 

At the famous Geu La Pass at 5198m above sea level. If weather is clear, You will have panaromic view of 5 of the world’s 15th Highest peaks including Everest, Lhotse ( the 4th), Makalu ( The 5th), Cho Oyu (the 6th) and Gyachung Kang (the 15th). 

We will drive down from the pass to Youpa Village and spend a night camping for acclimatize at this new altitude. 

Day 7Youpa-- Showo-tso pond (10km, 4677m) : Trekking Day1

After a good night sleep in camp. In the morning we will have breakfast at the camp. while your tour guide and Yak men put up all the trekking gears and supples on Yak caravan. 

It is advise to made a light back for this require only for the day, like water, energy bars, snacks, extra layer of cloths, sun screen and sun glass.

We will begun trekking by 11:00 am from Youpa Village. Th 10 kilometers trek with ascent of 900m will end at enchanting Showo-Tso Pond. As you reach the camp, you will find your camp cook welcoming at the new camp with hot cups of tea.

While our trek crews prepare for dinner, you can explore and wander around the camp.

Day 8Showo-tso - Doshang : Trekking Day 2

We will leave the camp at about 11:00. Today trek is for 14 kilometers. It take us ascending and descent back in a valley. 

In the initial phrase of trekking, we will hike up to Showola Pass which is situated at 4900 meters. Following that we will descent into Doshang valley. It is initial part of Gama Valley.

This picturesque valley is sprinkled with colorful orchid flowers with and surrounded by marvelous snow capped mountain.

As you descent down in to the valley, exuberant landscape and intoxicating and alluring scent of the wild flowers makes you step into a dream land.

Day 8Dolshang - Tangsung Viewing Platform : Trekking Day 3

Today trek is about 12 kilometers. Initially we will ascent through a pristine forest. As reach the ridge, we can revisit back into the Gama Valley and enjoy the breathtaking view of it.

If we are on right time, we can witness the grandeur of Mt. Makalu (8463m). In the noon time we will reach Tsonang-Tso lake, cuddled by snow-capped mountains. This lake flows through the Gama Valley via underground passage. While enjoying the view of reflection of spectacular symmetric image of surrounding snowy summits on its crystal-clear water surface, we will have lunch.

Further in afternoon, we will pass another mountain pass for Xialong Pasture. The splendid pasture is blanketed with colorful wild flowers. follow by trek to our camping site at Tansung Viewing platform.

Day 9Tangsung Viewing Platform - Paltang : Trekking Day 4

Descent to Badang prairie in after a zigzag trail. As you descent, Glaciers and looming gorge will start  to appear on right hand side. Steam here is a source of river in Gama valley. 

Further wading through rugged and huge rock, we will reach Paltang at 4950m. Paltang is our campsite for the night, it is advisable go to bed early for challenging trek tomorrow.

Day 10Paltang - Eastern Slope of Mt.Everest Base Camp(5310m) - Paltang : Trekking Day 5

Today is a challenging trekking day. It is a day hike to eastern slope of Mount Everest. It take about 18 kilometers with about 400m of ascend. 

Initially we will trek upwards to eastern basecamp of Mount Everest. This part of trek involves a difficult upward walk with slope a 45 degree. Here we will see less known Mt. Chomo Lonzo (7840m) and glaciers on Mt Everest. After reaching at the Everest Basecamp, we will head back to our camp.

You can stay back at the camp for the day, if you prefer having good rest. Here at the camp you can enjoy a picturesque landscape around the camp site.

Day 11Paltang—Ega--Tangsung Viewing Platform : Trekking Day 6

From Paltang, today we will return back to Tangsung veiwing paltform camp for the night taking same trail back.

Day 12Tangsung Viewing Platform - Tsosho-rim (5013m, 11km) : Trekking Day 7

Today trek is for about 11 kilometers to Tsosho-rim. We will trek northward to reach our camp at Tsoshorim right below majestic peaks including Mt. Everest(8844.43m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m) and an unnamed peak(7000m).

Day 13Tsosho-rim - Nangma-la pass - Lhundupling Village : Trekking Day 8

Today is another challenging trek day. We will crossing over two soaring pass, Nangma-La Pass (5344m), which is highest on the entire trekking and other is unnamed (5000+m). After the deep-blue lake of Latsetso, we will reach Lundruping Village.

Day 13Lhundupling Village—Zhaxizom—Shigatse : Trekking Day 8

Today marks the end of this wonderful trek, we will pack all our stuff and drive back to Shigatse. in Shigatse you can take a good shower, dinner and good night sleep in comfort of hotel.

Day 14Shigatse - Lhasa

We will drive back to Lhasa along the Yalung Tsangpo river. This is your last night in Tibet and you can enjoy evening scrolling in old Lhasa city or have a traditional dinner with your tour guide.

Day 15Departure from Lhasa

Today, you will be leaving Tibet. Your Tour Guide and Drivers will escort you to either at airport or the Train Station.
