Gansu is located between Tibetan Plateau and the Loess Plateau. Gansu is home to some of the most iconic Buddhist temples and grottoes which contains artistically and historically revealing murals. It was also the beginning of silk route.
The province is also home to Gānnán Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, where famous Labrang Monastery, Langmusi town, zhagana town and Zoige Grassland is located.
